About
Why choose Family Day Care?
Family Day Care is an approved form of child care that is provided in the Educator’s own home. Family day care Educators are Early Childhood Professionals who engage in the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and work within the requirements of the National Quality Framework. The Educators are registered with a Family Day Care service that is responsible for approving, supporting, training, and advising its educators.
- A Family Day Care Educator operates under the same National Quality Framework (NQF) as other forms of childcare; incorporating national regulations, quality and qualification standards, educational frameworks, and an assessment and ratings process.
- Parents are eligible to the same Federal Government Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
- Educators work with a small group of children, providing a familiar, safe, and nurturing environment, in a home-based setting, which facilitates strong bonds and promotes effective early learning and social development.

About the Educator
My name is Luana, throughout many years working with children I had cute and funny nicknames, but the cutest one was “Lulu” and that’s how everyone knows me now. I’m from Brazil, I was born in a big city called São Bernardo do Campo and I lived there for most part of my life. In Brazil, I am a psychologist, I have worked in a special education school supporting families and children with autism, Down’s syndrome and other genetic disorders. Throughout my career, I had experience working with all ages, but my heart always beat stronger when I had a child in my clinic. For me, it is just fascinating to dive into their little minds and help them to cope with difficult emotions.
One of the biggest dreams in my life was to study about child development in another country. When I moved to Australia I did not know how fast things would start happening to me, less than three months I was working with children again. From that moment, I realised that my mission in this world is to take care of these precious little human beings and make a difference in their lives.
My lifework has spread for everyone around the world the importance of cherishing early years. Children need to be guided by an adult (parents/caregivers/educators) to become good human beings and make this world a better place to live. They necessitate secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships, a safe environment, care and, mainly, love. At this age, kids need to play, because through playing they explore and develop important aspects such as physical, social, emotional, spiritual and cognitive.
I have the most wonderful job!
“One of the luckiest things that can happen to you is to have a happy childhood”.

Philosophy

I strongly believe that the early childhood is the most important time of a human’s life. The experiences lived in these years are essential and have lifelong consequences for health and wellbeing.
At Lulu’s Family Day Care the aim is to provide to little ones a warm and unforgettable childhood filled with love, care, joy, affection, support, respect and freedom to be themselves. I maintain that it is important to respect the characteristics of each stage of development and understand that the progression takes time and each child will develop at their own pace.
I nurture children’s curiosity of learning with a stimulating environment ensuring it is met with engaging, developmentally appropriate outcomes. I completely believe that play is natural from the child, and it is all about mental health helping them to lead with feelings, frustration, socialisation and communication.
I value that partnership with family is essential and hugely benefits children, providing appropriate education and care for them. Together, we are able to construct a curriculum and learning experiences relevant to children and gradually expanding their knowledge and understanding of the world.
